You’re Not Alone

My road to college as a first-generation student was filled with setbacks. I found myself traversing unknown ground – largely on my own. You see, I grew up in a family with no prior experience of the college admission process. My parents' lack of support made it tough for me to understand the complexities of college applications, financial assistance, and scholarship prospects.

At first, I had to rely on my own resourcefulness. Thankfully, I discovered a network of like-minded first generation students through my high school who supported me in this endeavor. I ultimately graduated from my dream college with their moral support and I am still in touch with many people from this group. Remember, you are never as alone as you might think. Always reach out for help when you need it.
